I recently installed Ubuntu on my Surface Book as the only OS and I am starting to experience some connection problems. The connection speed is super slow with a ping of 8000. One year ago I tried to install Ubuntu and I also had connection problems: after some time x the computer couldn't find the network anymore. now it is different.
I have two identical machines, one has ubuntu 10.04 the other ubuntu 10.04 + win7. The problem appears in the second. Both has clean ubuntus installations, moreover, the ./mozilla and ./thunderbird folders in my user directory come from ubuntu 9.10 (they were backed up and copied by hand in the new 10.04). The host computer has an active internet connection. The virtual machine will have no internet connection.
Did a fresh install and everything was fine. After a reboot I find there is no network connection at all. I rebooted again and it was there, then I rebooted after that and it wouldn’t connect again. Bringing the interface down and up seems to work, but I shouldn’t have to manually do this. Something is wrong. It didn’t do this on the prior version.
